Check how AI is used

Every AI request is recorded: who used which feature, on what, with which provider and model, how many tokens it used and whether it worked. The text of the request and the reply are never stored. Records saved after AI filled them in say so in their Activity.

  1. Open the audit log — In the sidebar, go to Team › Audit log.

  2. Choose the record type — Set Record type to AI request.

  3. Read each row — When, Who, the action — “Read a document”, “Drafted an email”, “Drafted quote lines” or “Suggested bank matches” — and the record it was for, which you can open. Details shows the provider and model, the tokens used and whether it worked, for example “Worked” or “Didn’t answer in 30 seconds”.

See Use the audit log for filters and Export CSV.

Switching AI on or off, and changing the provider, features or budget, are all in the audit log under the record type AI assistant. The API key is never included. When you turn AI on for a cloud provider, your acknowledgement of what’s sent is recorded too.

Open a vendor bill, expense or quote and look at its Activity. An entry such as “Created as a draft · filled in with AI”, “Edited · filled in with AI” or “Submitted for approval · filled in with AI” shows AI helped, with who and when under it like every entry.
