Delete a Team

Deleting a Team removes it and its permissions. Its members lose what it allowed, but nobody’s sign-in goes, and Teams they’re on keep working. Spine tells you first who would be left on no Team.

Who can do this

Only Owners. You can’t delete the default Team (General Staff), and a business always keeps at least one Team.

1. Find the Team — Go to Team › Teams. Open the Team’s row menu, or the menu on the Team’s own page.

2. Choose Delete — “Delete Team?” says how many people lose what it allowed, and names anyone who’d be on no Team — for example “Kavya Iyer will be on no Team — they can’t open anything until you add them to one.”

3. Confirm — Press Delete Team. The toast names the Team and how many people lost what it allowed.

Danger

Deleting a Team can’t be undone, and its history goes with it. The audit log keeps a record that it was deleted. To keep the permissions for later, take everyone off the Team instead.

What happens next

• Members on other Teams keep everything those Teams allow.
• Members left with no Team can’t open anything. The Staff on no Team card on Teams and the Staff without a Team card on Users count them. Add them to a Team.
• Delete isn’t offered on the default Team or when it’s the only Team.
