Choose who can draft, send and revise quotes

Quote rights come from Teams. You can let a junior draft quotes without letting them send anything on your behalf, or let them work on their own quotes without touching a colleague’s.

Who can do this

Owners only. Managing Teams is always Owner-only.

1. Open the Team — Go to Team › Teams and open the Team whose rights you want to change.

2. Find the quote rights — They’re grouped with Quotes. Type “quote” in Search permissions to see only them.

3. Turn rights on or off — Choose the rights from the list below. Turning on an action turns on Open Quotes with it.

4. Save — Press Save changes and confirm. Members get the new rights at their next request. A member has every right granted by any of their Teams.

The quote rights

Right	What it allows
Open Quotes	See Quotes in the sidebar and read every quote.
Create/edit own quotes	Start new quotes, duplicate them, and edit drafts you created.
Edit others’ quotes	Edit a draft a colleague created.
Delete own quotes	Delete a draft you created.
Delete others’ quotes	Delete a colleague’s draft.
Send a quote	Send a draft, email it again and copy the customer link. Sending can’t be undone, so it’s separate from editing.
Revise a quote	Make a new version of a sent quote.
Approve quote above discount threshold	Listed with the quote rights; on the quote’s page, only Owners see Approve discount.
Accept a quote in person	Record a customer’s on-site acceptance and signature.

The seeded General Staff Team has every quote right except approving discounts.

What people see

• Without Create/edit own quotes or Edit others’ quotes, New quote is hidden.
• With Create/edit own quotes only, Edit is hidden on a colleague’s draft.
• Without Send a quote, Send quote and Save and send are hidden, even on your own draft. With it, you can send a colleague’s draft you can’t edit.
• Without Revise a quote, Revise is hidden.

Tip

Spine checks these rights on the server too, so hiding a button is never the only protection.

Converting a quote needs the invoice or job rights: Create/edit own invoices or Create/edit own jobs. Field users never see Quotes on the web, whatever their Teams. See Team.
