Deactivate or reactivate someone

When someone leaves, deactivate them. They can’t sign in or open anything from that moment, on the web or the phone, but their records, history and Teams stay. Their name still shows on the quotes, invoices and notes they created. Spine doesn’t delete people.

  1. Find the person — Go to Team › Users on the Active tab and open their row menu.

  2. Choose Deactivate — “Deactivate name?” says they can’t sign in or open anything from now on, and that their records, history and Teams stay.

  3. Confirm — Press Deactivate. The toast says they’ve been deactivated, and they move to the Deactivated tab.

  • Their sessions stop working for your business at once, on every device.
  • Any AI agents they connected are disconnected. See Connected agents.
  • Their name stays on everything they did, and the audit log keeps their history.
  • People from the demo data are marked Demo. Deactivating one notes that they go when the demo data is deleted.
  1. Open the Deactivated tab — Go to Team › Users and choose Deactivated.

  2. Choose Reactivate — Open their row menu. “Reactivate name?” says they get their previous role and Teams back and can sign in again.

  3. Confirm — Press Reactivate. The toast says they can sign in again.

Agents they had connected don’t come back; they connect them again if they need them.

To reduce what someone can do without removing their access, take them off a Team instead. See Add and remove people on a Team.
