Read a contact's timeline

Before you call a customer, check where you stand with them. A contact’s timeline lists what’s happened with them, newest first, so you don’t have to open each list in turn.

  1. Open the contact — Go to Contacts and open it. The page opens on the Timeline tab.
  2. Read the entries — Each entry shows what happened (for example “Quote QUO-0012 sent” or “Meeting: Site visit”), a short detail such as the quote’s total, and how long ago it happened. Hover over the time to see the exact date.
  • Quotes: when each was created and sent, and whether it was accepted or rejected.
  • Activities you’ve logged, and whether each task is done. See Log an activity or follow-up.
  • Meetings linked to the contact, at the time they take place. For a recurring meeting, a cancelled occurrence isn’t listed, and a moved one shows its new time. See Meetings.

A contact with no history shows “Nothing yet” and “Quotes, logged activities, and scheduled meetings for this contact will show up here.”

  • Contact persons and Addresses: see Add contact persons and addresses.
  • Leads: the contact’s leads with their title, stage and value. See Add a lead.
  • Activities: calls, meetings, notes and tasks for the contact.
  • Attachments: files kept with the contact, such as a signed agreement. Press Add files, or drop files on the tab. PDF, JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC files work, up to 10 MB each and 10 per record.

The timeline shows what happened with the customer. To see who changed the contact’s own details, press View history at the top of the page.
