Log an activity or follow-up

Log what happened each time you speak to a customer or vendor, and set a follow-up date when there’s something to do next. Open follow-ups turn Overdue when their date passes, so nothing slips.

  1. Open the tab — Open the contact and choose the Activities tab.
  2. Start the activity — Press Log activity.
  3. Fill it in — Choose a Type: call, meeting, note or task. Add Notes about what happened. Set a Follow-up date if there’s something to follow up on; leave it blank if there’s nothing.
  4. Save — Press Log activity. An “Activity logged” toast shows and the activity appears at the top of the list with its type and follow-up date.

An activity is assigned to the person who logs it.

Tick the box at the start of the activity’s row when you’ve done it. It shows as done and leaves your overdue follow-ups. Untick it to open it again: its follow-up comes back, and it’s overdue again if the date has passed.

If you can’t change an activity (it’s a colleague’s and you don’t have Edit others’ activities), its box is greyed out.

Press Edit activity (the pencil) on the row, change the type, notes or date, and press Save changes. Ticking an activity done or changing it never changes who logged it.

  • An open activity whose follow-up date has passed shows an Overdue chip.
  • Your own overdue follow-ups also show on your dashboard, so you see them when you sign in.
  • With My Activities ticked on the meetings calendar, your follow-ups show on their days. See Meetings.

A lead has follow-ups too. Open the lead on the pipeline and use Log activity or Add follow-up in its Follow-ups section. See Work a lead from its drawer.

A contact with no activities shows “No activities logged.”
