See notifications on the phone

Field crew get their notifications in the Spine field app: what happened to their expenses, changes to their crews and their meetings. They share read state with the web, so something read on the phone is read everywhere.

Who can do this

Field users, in the field app. Field notifications never include anything about money they can’t see.

1. Find the bell — On the Today screen, the bell in the header shows how many are unread — “9+” when there are more than nine.

2. Open your notifications — Tap the bell. The list is split into New and Earlier. Each item has an icon, a message, a detail line and when it happened. Unread items carry a dot on iPhone, or a tinted row on Android.

3. Open one — Tap a notification to go to the expense, job or meeting. It’s marked read.

4. Mark them all read — Tap Read all.

What Field users are notified about

• Expense decisions — “Sarah Mendes approved your expense”, or rejected, with the reason so you can fix it.
• Crew changes — being added to or removed from a job’s crew.
• Meetings — invitations, changes and starting-soon reminders.

Nothing is sent about a module the business has switched off.

When there’s nothing new

The list says “You’re all caught up” and “Expense decisions, crew changes and meeting invitations show up here.”
