Set up a recurring meeting

A weekly site meeting or a monthly review only needs setting up once. When plans change, you can move or cancel a single date without disturbing the rest of the series.

Who can do this

The organiser with Create/edit own meetings, Owners, and Staff whose Team has Edit others’ meetings. Deleting needs Delete own meetings or Delete others’ meetings.

Make a meeting repeat

1. Open the dialog — Start a new meeting, or edit an existing one.
2. Turn on Repeats — On the Details tab, turn on Repeats.
3. Choose how often — In Frequency, choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
4. Choose when it ends — In Ends, choose After and a number of occurrences, or On date and an end date.
5. Save — Press Create event or Save changes. Each occurrence shows on the calendar.

The quick view says how a meeting repeats, such as “Weekly, 10 times” or “Monthly, until …”.

Change one occurrence or the whole series

1. Start the change — Press an occurrence and choose Edit in the quick view.
2. Choose the scope — Spine asks “Edit recurring event”. Choose This event to change only this date, or All events to change the series. Cancel changes nothing.
3. Make the change and save — Press Save changes.

When you edit one occurrence, the dialog says “Editing just this occurrence — the rest of the series is unaffected.” Press Edit the series instead if you meant all of them. Editing all events says “Editing updates the entire series.”

Visibility and invitees always apply to the whole series. To change them, choose All events.

When you drag an occurrence to a new time, Spine asks “Move recurring event” with the same choices.

Delete one occurrence or the whole series

1. Choose Delete — Press the occurrence and press Delete in the quick view.
2. Choose the scope — In “Delete recurring event”, choose This event or All events.
3. Confirm — For one date, Spine asks “Delete this occurrence?”; the rest of the series stays. For all events, it asks “Delete this meeting?”. Press Delete.

Deleting can't be undone

A deleted occurrence or series is removed from the calendar for everyone.

Good to know

• There’s no “this and following events” option. To change the rest of a series from a date on, edit all events, or end the series and start a new one.
• A cancelled occurrence doesn’t show on the contact’s timeline, and a moved one shows at its new time.
• Spine sends a reminder for each occurrence, and none for a cancelled one.
