Find a contact
The Contacts list shows every active contact. Search and filters narrow it down, and the address in your browser keeps them, so Back and bookmarks bring you to the same list.
- Open Contacts — Go to Contacts. The cards at the top count all your active contacts: Total contacts, Customers, Vendors and Active leads.
- Search — Type in Search contacts. The list narrows to contacts whose name, email or phone matches, as you type.
- Filter — Choose a type (All types, Customer, Vendor, Customer & vendor) or a status (Active, Archived). Archived contacts show only when you choose Archived.
- Use the cards — Press Customers or Vendors to filter to that type; press it again to clear it. Total contacts clears the type filter. Active leads opens the pipeline.
- Choose a view — Use the view switcher to choose Table view, List view or Card view. Spine remembers your choice on this device.
Refresh the list
Section titled “Refresh the list”Press Refresh list beside the view switcher to see contacts your colleagues have just added or changed. “Updated just now” (then “Updated 2 min ago” and so on) says when the list last loaded. The list also refreshes when you come back to the browser tab after 30 seconds or more away. If a refresh fails, the list you had stays and you see “Couldn’t refresh the list. Check your connection and try again.” with Try again.
When nothing matches
Section titled “When nothing matches”- A search with no match says “No contacts match “…”” with Clear search.
- Filters with no match say “No contacts match these filters” with Clear filters, which also clears the search.
- With no contacts at all, you see “No contacts yet” and Add contact.
Find a contact from anywhere
Section titled “Find a contact from anywhere”Press Search… at the top of any page and type. Besides a name or email, you can find a contact by:
- 4 or more digits of a phone number, in any format (“555 0107”, “(555) 0107”). This also matches the phones of the contact’s people.
- A tax ID or GSTIN, or part of one. Case and spaces don’t matter.
- The name or email of one of its people, such as “Priya”.
When a contact is found by something other than its name or email, the second line says what matched, such as “Contact: Priya Nair”.
