Respond to a meeting invitation

When a colleague invites you to a meeting, let them know whether you’ll be there. Your answer shows next to your name for everyone who opens the meeting, and it decides whether Spine reminds you before it starts.

  1. Find the meeting — Open the invitation from the bell, or go to Meetings and find it on the calendar or in Upcoming.
  2. Open it — Press the meeting. Its quick view opens.
  3. Answer — Under Your response, press Accepted, Tentative or Declined. The button you chose stays highlighted.

You can also answer from Manage attendees: press the attendees button beside the meeting in Upcoming. It lists everyone invited with their response, such as Invited or Accepted.

  • The organiser sees your response next to your name in the quick view.
  • If you change an earlier answer, for example from Accepted to Declined, the organiser is notified. Your first answer doesn’t notify them.
  • If you accepted or answered Tentative, Spine reminds you before the meeting starts. If you declined, it doesn’t. See Set meeting reminders.

If your response can’t be saved, you see “Could not save your response.” Try again.

You’re told by email (“You’ve been invited: …”) and in Spine when you’re invited. You’re told again if you’re removed from the meeting or it’s cancelled. For how notifications reach you, see Notifications.

Field crew see their next meeting in the next 7 days on the field app’s Today screen, under Next meeting. Tapping it, or a meeting notification, opens the meeting’s title, time, location and notes. The field app shows meetings read-only, so answer invitations in Spine on the web. If the meeting has been cancelled, or you’re no longer invited, the app says “This meeting isn’t available”.
