Transfer primary ownership
The Primary Owner is the super-admin of your Spine. Nobody else can demote or deactivate them, change their password or remove them. There’s always exactly one, and the status only moves when the Primary Owner transfers it — for example when the business changes hands.
-
Make sure there’s another Owner — If there isn’t, promote a Staff member to Owner first.
-
Open your own row — Go to Team › Users. Your row is marked You and Primary Owner. Open its menu and choose Transfer primary ownership….
-
Choose the new Primary Owner — In “Transfer primary ownership”, pick them from Select an owner.
-
Transfer — Press Transfer. The toast says “Primary ownership transferred” and names the new Primary Owner.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- The person you chose shows the Primary Owner badge.
- You stay an Owner, with the same full access. From now on, other Owners can demote you, like any other Owner.
If there are no other Owners
Section titled “If there are no other Owners”The dialog says: “There are no other Owners yet. Promote a Staff member to Owner first, then you can transfer primary ownership to them.”
What other Owners see on the Primary Owner’s row
Section titled “What other Owners see on the Primary Owner’s row”The Primary Owner’s row has no Deactivate and no Demote to Staff, for anyone. Change password is never offered on an Owner’s row; the Primary Owner’s menu says only they can change their own password, from Profile.
