Dashboards for Staff and Field crew

Spine builds each person’s dashboard from their own work and their rights. Staff see what their Teams let them act on; Field crew see their jobs, their expenses and what needs them, with no money figures. A card someone can’t use is left out entirely, never shown locked or empty, and the server refuses its data even if asked directly.

Who decides

Owners, by choosing each Team’s rights in Teams. The Field role is fixed and can’t be given financial rights. See Give your accountant access to reports for the report rights.

The Staff dashboard

• Needs your attention shows “Only things you can act on”: only the kinds of item their rights allow, plus their own overdue follow-ups (“n follow-ups are overdue”) and their own quotes about to expire (“Your quote number expires day”). An expense they submitted never appears in their own list, because someone else approves it.
• Key figures: with View dashboard summary, the same four as an Owner. Without it, Staff see the figures they can view instead, such as Receivables, Overdue, Open pipeline and Quotes won this month.
• Cards: each card needs the same right as its full report, for example View receivables for Receivables aging or View payables for Payables. Pipeline by stage and Recent activity need no right.
• The sidebar has no Team section for Staff.

The Field dashboard on the web

Field crew use the field app on their phones, but they can also sign in on the web. There, the header reads “n jobs on your list · n things need you”, and the dashboard shows:

• Needs your attention: milestones due within 7 days on their assigned jobs, with Mark complete, and their rejected expenses with the reviewer’s reason, with Fix and resubmit. With nothing waiting, it says “Milestones due on your jobs and expenses sent back to you will show up here.”
• Today: their own meetings only, whatever the business’s meeting setting.
• My jobs: each assigned job’s name and number, customer, site address, next milestone and Directions.
• My expenses: their last 5 expenses with category, date, amount and a status chip: Approved, Rejected or Submitted.
• Recent activity on my jobs: non-financial events on their assigned jobs.

Caution

No contract value, invoice, payment or report figure appears anywhere on a Field user’s dashboard. Field crew never reach financial reports, on the web or on a phone.
