Check what someone can open
When someone says they can’t find a page or a button, check their access from Users. The drawer shows exactly what Spine lets them open — the same rules the server enforces.
-
Find the person — Go to Team › Users. Search by name or email, or filter by Role.
-
Open What they can open — Open their row menu and choose What they can open. You can also choose it from a member’s menu on a Team’s Members tab.
-
Read the drawer — “What name can open” shows their role and Teams, then each section of Spine as Can work here, View only or Can’t open, and how many permissions they have in each group.
-
Change what they can do — Each Team has an Edit on Team → link that opens its permissions. Or close the drawer and choose Manage Teams to change which Teams they’re on.
What the drawer says for each role
Section titled “What the drawer says for each role”- Owner — “Owners can open everything, including Users, Teams and Settings.”
- Field — “Field access is fixed: the jobs they’re assigned to, their meetings and their own expenses — no money.”
- Staff on one or more Teams — the Teams they’re on, and “everything any of them allows” when there are several.
- Staff on no Team — they can’t open anything until you add them to one.
What the words mean
Section titled “What the words mean”- Can work here — the section is in their sidebar and they can do at least one thing in it.
- View only — the section is in their sidebar, but they can see records, not change them.
- Can’t open — the section isn’t in their sidebar, and its pages and records are refused.
See Choose what a Team can do to change a Team’s sections and permissions.
