Set how long quotes stay valid

Every quote can have a Valid until date. After that date a sent quote shows Expired, so old prices aren’t honoured by accident. You set your usual validity once, and every new quote starts with it.

  1. Open Settings — Open your account menu and choose Settings, then Documents.

  2. Choose the quote tab — At the top of the pane, choose the Quote tab.

  3. Set the days — Enter Quotes valid for, from 1 to 365 days. It starts at 30.

  4. Save — Press Save. New quotes now start with this validity.

In the quote builder, Valid until starts at today plus your default. Pick another date, press +15 days, +30 days or +60 days, or clear it so the quote never expires. A duplicated quote gets a fresh date; if the original had none, the copy uses your default.

  • The list and the quote’s page show Expired, with how long ago (“Expired 2 days ago”).
  • Choose Expired in the list’s Status filter to see them all.
  • The Expiring in 7 days card on the Quotes list, and Needs your attention on the dashboard, show quotes about to expire so you can follow up first.
  • To offer the work again, revise the quote and give the new version a new date.

Spine doesn’t send customers reminders about quotes. Use the Expiring in 7 days card to follow up yourself.
